Canadian Geographic
My first full-time social media role was with Canadian Geographic as their Social Media Coordinator. I managed the daily social media activity, strategy, analytics, and online communities for four of their brands with a collective following of 250,000+ people.
In addition to social media management and strategy, I worked on various digital projects and wrote digital content for the Canadian Geographic website and Travel verticals.
Special Projects
Social Media Strategy
Seeing a low-effort, high-reward opportunity in the holiday season, I pitched a digital marketing strategy that focused on strategically promoting our products or donations to support our work. The campaign generated $3,000 in sales through organic social promotion alone and garnered over 360,000 impressions throughout the month-long campaign.
Writing
Part of my role at Canadian Geographic includes pitching and writing relevant stories for our digital platforms. These types of stories range from Q&As and listicles to lifestyle content. Some of my stories include:
Through the Lens
Canadian Geographic boasts a vibrant community of over 20,000 Canadian photographers through Instagram and their Photo Club. To connect and promote the Photo Club and the work of featured photographers, I manage the creation and distribution of a monthly newsletter called “Through the Lens,” where we share the accomplishments of the photo community each month and share photography tips from professional photographers.
